Project 9. Tip of the Day/Week/Month
- Goal
- The general goal of this project is to build editing skills and guideline awareness.
The specific goals of this project are (1) to build a database of editing tips for editors and (2) to make a formal recommendation for software features that would display these tips (and translations) on the editing dashboard.
Editors who have been accepted for at least two new categories are invited to join the project team. - Area of Activity

- Responsibilities of Project Leader
- Establish some general guidelines for "good" tips (e.g. concise, link to further information where applicable).
- Determine classes for tips (e.g. "making the most of forums", "building categories", "reviewing a site").
- Build and maintain the tips database. This is the primary activity for this project.
- Lead a discussion of possible software features.
- Compile feature suggestions into a formal recommendation.
- Responsibilities of Project Team Members
- Suggest tips and assist in building "Tip Database".
- Assist with editing/proofreading of tips.
- Assist with evaluating suggestions for software features.
- Responsibilities of Project Sponsor
- Implement the software tool that allows the tip database to be maintained and translated.
- Implement the software to display tips on the editing dashboard.
- Measures of Success
- This project will be deemed successful if a tips database is built and a recommendation is made allowing the software to be developed to display the tips on the dashboard.
